It should also include a description of the type of data to be collected along with the statistical analyses anticipated. The research analysis needs to align with the research design. A detailed description of the relevant data collected for each stated research question and each variable within each hypothesis (if applicable) is needed.

The what, why, and how should be addressed. Which statistical and non-statistical analysis and procedures will be used to conduct the data analysis? Why will these statistical and nonstatistical data analyses be used? How do these data analysis techniques align with the research question and design? Demonstrate that the quantity and quality of the data are sufficient to answer the research questions. Chapter 8 of the Creswell text provides exemplars of research plans for each of the quantitative designs.
