A. Name, age, gender, occupation, and relevant
background information.
B. Personal history relevant to your diagnosis and
treatment.
C. Current circumstances, stressors, and challenges.
D. Overall behavioral, emotional, and cognitive characteristics that generally speak to the state of your chosen character. **Specific examples of behavior will be listed in the next section, this is an account of overall life circumstances (ex. They’ve lived in a war zone, were abandoned by parents, lost their job, etc.)
II. Diagnosis: A. Based on the character profile, diagnose the individual with a mental health disorder using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR) criteria. B. Justify your diagnosis by referencing specific symptoms (as evidenced by their observed behavior; emotional/mood state, and/or internal dialogue) and criteria from the DSM-S-TR. C. Provide a rationale for why this diagnosis is most appropriate for the individual. A. Key Component: Thoughtfulness is more important than accuracy here. I’m expecting a thoughtful, thorough attempt, not a perfect diagnosis. III. Treatment Choice: A. Select an evidence-based treatment approach for the diagnosed mental health disorder. B. Describe the chosen treatment approach, including its theoretical foundation, goals, and techniques. C. Explain why this treatment approach is suitable for addressing your character’s symptoms and needs.
IV. Reflection: A. Reflect on the process of diagnosing the individual and selecting a treatment approach. B. Discuss any challenges or uncertainties encountered during the assignment. C. Reflect on how your personal beliefs, biases, and values may have influenced your decision-making process. D. Consider alternative diagnoses or treatment approaches that were considered and why they were ultimately not chosen. V. Reference Page (Please Include w/ Outline) A. Include all previously recorded citations minimum in APA 7 style.
